Well yes and no. You could always go the RAID / LVM route but depending on the setup that is nothing you can do later on.
You can also mount a drive as a specific folder, such as /home/user/public_html/massive_media_directory/ . If you have one folder with a lot of the data this could work out for you.
If you have a lot of accounts in the few Gb range you could always mount it as home2 and re-arrange some of the accounts via WHM to the new home dir.
