Default Unable to locate the enko_ApplicationHost.config template file

    Hi,
I have a server up and running, all is well and everything seems to work OK I'm just having a little bit of trouble with an application that I have listed under the public_html directory.

    My structure is like this;

    public_html\
    public_html\index.aspx
public_html\<loads of other files and folders>
    public_html\application

Now the issue arises since I have an application under that directory. I cannot find a way in Enkompass to make that folder an application. I can do this easily enough in IIS7 (right click on the "application" folder and select convert to application) and this works, initially I thought this process was complete. Unfortunately it seems Enkompass wants to override the settings I've done in IIS7. I found some documentation here How Enkompass Configures IIS7 | Enkompass (I like the quantity and quality of the documentation by the way) which indicates there is a template file where I can write these changes so that when Enkompass does its updating the changes I've made can be re-applied. The only issue I've come across is that the template file is not present in the directory where the documentation said it would be.

I've done a search through the computer for a file named "enko_applicationHost" which didn't return any results.

    Using Enkompass™ Version 3.0.0.60.6400.15814
    Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter

Has this template file been moved/removed since that documentation was written? If so does anyone know where I could find the newer version of the template file so that I can update it with my changes?

We stopped using the template file in 2.4.0.13.

You will need to grant the WSO role of Manage Applications to the account. You will then see a "Applications and Virtual Directories" icon in WSO.

Thanks for the response, that is a much better solution rather than using the template.

To add the application I just edited my plan and selected custom from the WSO Role drop down list which allowed me to make a new WSO Role which I called Manage Applications. From the Files drop down menu in the Create/View the role window I checked the checkbox for Manage Applications.

Then the next time I opened the WSO administration section I was able to see Applications and Virtual Directories in the Advanced section.

Sorry for the wordy response to say your instructions worked but I'm going to forget how I did this in the future so I'll refer back to this post.

Edit: Spoke too soon. Attempted to add in the application and its added something strange when putting the path into the applicationHost.config section. Instead of inserting the path as "/application" it's put it in as "application/application" which is causing IIS to not load the configs at all.

Is there any documentation available for creating applications in the way I am attempting to? I'm sure there is something I'm doing wrong.

Second Edit: OK, strange functionality but in the end I got this working. If you select a directory from the left hand list before adding a new application it will insert the corrupted path format listed above which will take down IIS on that server. If however you don't select anything from the left hand menu and only use the right hand selection it will insert the correct path and the application will work. Also came across a problem where I couldn't remove completely the corrupt application. I used the remove functionality and visually this application was removed however it kept re-appearing in the applicationHost.config file. I ended up having to remove the account and re-add it in order for the corrupt path not to bring down IIS. All working now though, thanks again for your help.
