Hi,

Since i do need to exclude some dirs from backups, due to limited backup space and a very large amount of data, I've found out about this new feature.

So, I've edited conf file which is already present in all user dirs and added a line like this :

/home/user/excludedir

That should be it, right ?

But - now i see my server is choking up trying to gzip 320GB of data from that dir i just excluded from backup.

So, any idea what i did wrong ?

Hi cPanel,

many of your users have notice that backup are not 100% safe as was used in old versions.

first bug:
- account that have overqouta example 50MB created web space and used 50MB or more 55MB cannot restored with all files.

So accout are restored but many files come with 0Kb and that files are empty.


second bug, and you now very well for that bug...
- some file does not get in account backup files becouse files permissions.

Question for you cPanel?
How to explain my client that backup is not complete?
How to explain my client many files come with 0Kb?

And why you cPanel in your advertisements do not have to pubilshed...
we "have a backup" but not working 100% under these and these conditions!

Please dont tell me that I will get ban for this post..

The cPanel runs the the backup and stores the backup but if you run a daily backup or weekly backup when you remove the account from the cpanel the cpanel does not remove the backup on the next backup it keeps the backup of the accounts which have been removed by the users does not exist in the server My question is that

1. How to avoid such backup been stored ?

2. If the backup is stopped accidentally or killed by the user how to resume the backup from where it stopped ?

I'd like to do a daily, weekly & monthly incremental backup to the secondary hard drive and a full weekly backup to a remote FTP server.

It is possible to have 2 configs for the WHM Backup? One with the incremental settings and schedule... and the 2nd one for full remote backups?

This is a required capability which is missing from WHM.

Does anyone know a way to accomplish this?

I have installed AhsayOBM on our cpanel/whm server so I can remote backup to and AhsayOBS. I want to know what the best practice is for backing everything up. Is it best to backup through WHM or what? I want the best solution, that makes it easy to restore if something goes wrong. Account, config files, mysql db, whatever I need to do. Trying to figure out the best way to use this setup.

is it possible to automatically delete files that are uploaded with
the above extension?

in whm/cPanel 11.25.0-C40255 the Restore a Full Backup/cpmove file utility not working in WHM , it give a error 404 page .

the same in cpanel interface , 404 error page .

any solution for that ?
