Exclamation AtMail Webmail open-source edition now available

We are happy to announce the release of the AtMail open-source edition webmail client through the WHM Plugins system.

AtMail relies upon support for custom webmail applications, introduced in cPanel & WHM 11.28.

AtMail is an open source webmail client for IMAP mail servers. It utilizes Ajax to deliver an intuitive, simple user interface. After installation through the WHM administrative interface, webmail users can access AtMail along with the standard cPanel & WHM webmail clients such as Horde, Roundcube, and SquirrelMail.

    Hi,

I installed ATmail as per the instructions but don't see it when I login to webmail. I also don't see it under Tweak Settings to make sure it's actually enabled. How, or where, do I check?

Which cPanel version are you using on the machine just to ensure I'm testing on the same version, since both 11.28.87 and 11.30.0.26 have atmailopen in WHM > Manage Plugins area. To find the cPanel version:

    Code:
    cat /usr/local/cpanel/version ;echo

Feel welcome to watch the video I posted to Atmail is now available for cPanel's Webmail Interface! - cPanel Inc. to get an easier understanding of how to install and use it.

All I had to do in order to see @mail open source in cPanel > Email Accounts > Access Webmail was to go to WHM > Manage Plugins and select "Install and keep updated" box next to atmailopen and then click the "Save" button there.

How are you trying to reach the webmail client? If you add "/3rdparty/atmailopen/index.php" to the end of your url for webmail, are you then able to reach it?

Ah, when I saw this thread I was super excited thinking cPanel offered an easy way to provide the email client featured here: /http://atmail.COM

But instead, it is /http://atmail.ORG that is supported, which you will find are two different email products.

Lightbulb Re: AtMail Webmail open-source edition now available

$1.00 a user could get very expensive don't you think? cPanel does provide options for adding a custom solution, I wonder if the .com version would work there?

    Different products, same company.

However, if you really want the commercial edition of ATMail, you can easily implement it yourself - how-to at: Integrating Custom Webmail Applications

That's exactly how I did it.
But when I login to webmail, on any domain on this server, there's no AtMail option available.

I can see the Atmail interface when I access it with the URL directly, but there's no icon for it when I access New Web Hosting Setup -only Horde & Roundcube, since I disabled SquirrelMail in "Tweak Settings", in WHM

Are you using any specialized theme for cPanel that you've either branded or gotten from another developer (like RVSkin)? I disabled Squirrelmail in Tweak Settings to check this wouldn't cause the icon to not be there and the icon for @mailopen is still showing up in my Webmail.

Also, are you seeing any error in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log upon visiting your webmail area?

How does @mail open-source compare with the other three existing webmail clients in cpanel?

Has anybody done some comparisons? Any feedback from clients?

    Thanks.

Sexy I think might describe Atmail best. You should enable and take a peek, its easy enough to do.

You are right - it *is* quite sexy! I think my clients will appreciate the new offering.

Thanks to the AtMail people and to cpanel for making this available and for what is now likely the best of the four supported webmail clients.
