They have not only crossed but blown away the line of adding more functionality into a single interface that it has become too clutter ti be usable. Again it is a perfect example of coders trying to impress that they know all these kewl coding trick to do stuff that really never needed to be done. An interface should be clean, simple, and easy to use. Not glitzy, fluffy, and wow this look so pretty I just wish I could find what the shit I am looking for and that it was usable!
Is there a specific problem you're having that I can help you out with, or are you just going to drop by once a week and insult everything you see?I just wish I could find what the shit I am looking for and that it was usable!
We might want to break your comments off into its own thread or course. You're trashing this one and I see no need for that.
My schedule and my medical conditions have me away form the computer quite often. Sorry if not being here more often is a bother.
I actually thought I made my some clear and valid points. I do believe that the path cPanel is taking is (unfortunately) the trend in programming today. More emphasis on fluff and glitz and less on usability and readability. This is the point I was attempting to bring out when I made the reference to the new phpmyAdmin interface. I was drawing a parallel. They changed the basic look and feel of that software for no reason other than to fluff it up. The "Original" design is so much easier to read and use, yet just so they could say they have a nice fluffy new glitzy interface they made this new "pmahomme" theme. A lot of what is going on with the screen shots that I have seen of the new cPanel is the same thing. It is glistzy, fluffy, wow it looks so cool design that is very hard on the eyes and all but unusable.
I am not insulting anything. I am giving honest feedback to the development team. If they choose to only hear positive feedback and call anything else insults, then there was really no point in posting the screen shots, and thereby inviting comments, in the first place. Saying that I do not like the new interface is not trashing anything. It is telling you how I feel. I would think that professional programmers would not be so thin skinned as to think that they get upset if not everyone loves everything they do.
I'm not sure how you get from my comments to you, all the way to the programmers being thin skinned.
This is not feedback:
That comment is rubbish.I just wish I could find what the shit I am looking for and that it was usable!

Thanks Chuck, that looks slick and will make it easy to find that elusive domain owner!!

You make 0 sense. The interface is almost exactly like it was or is now. All they added is a bit more visual, like rounded corners, and text which is actually more clear to read and buttons easier to find.
How or which part is exactly more difficult to use?
Nice design sells, and if your customers like it why in the world do you care how it looks, if its going to bring you more money.
I find the new designs very simple, dual tone colors and easy to read and use. If all you like is text, then stay on the Linux console, but people that buy cPanel hosting do it exactly because they want a nice GUI which looks good and is easy to use.
Hard on the eyes? How? You mean the colors?
And did you happen to know that you can change themes? So if colors, fonts, etc are a problem you can customize them and make them more simple, or actually retain the current theme if you want.
And for PHPmyAdmin did you happen to know the same? They have several themes:
phpMyAdmin - Themes
And all I can say is that you are 100% wrong in my perspective. The new pmamhomme theme (which is also listed there) is SO much better, easier to read and use.
I took twice as much to find button and and actions on the old theme and now using phpmyadmin with pmamhomme is just a pleasure. And I got the same feedback from my customers. So I don´t think you have to much experience with GUIs interfaces or your medical problems are affecting your eyes or how you look colors on the screens because all this interface did is point out the most common used actions, make them cleaner and better to find.
People don´t look webpages, they scan. This means they scan web sites (offend never read) and stay at colors an graphics. GUIs are the same, its meant to find the most common used actions as fast as possible with a visual scan eye and do things with less clicks as possible.
By the way if you take a look at the link I posted, pmamhomme is not new. Its from 2010.
This is the same discussion you can find between MS Office 2003 fans and MS Office 2007 fans. The new ribbon design had offended the old school users, even me, but you know what: you'll love it in the end. The daily usage demonstrate that the new UI is better and with greater ease of use. I won't switch to Office 2003 never back again. Also, Windows 8 will adopt the ribbon design broadly when you don't use their also brand new Metro Desktop, and it's just great. It's a sign of a company moving forward, reinventing their process to don't stay old and quiet. It's the future, dudes, let's embrace it.
I just found this thread. Wow great updates. I can't wait for them to be released to my tier. I must say great minds think alike. Keep up the good work.
Can't believe how slow the UI guys at cPanel really are to be honest. THis has been long overdue and seems to be taking an absolute age. We spoke with UI people nearly a YEAR ago about changes, and so far nothing.
This issue has been posted several times now in multiple threads, this should help you out here:
