Default Ability to manage CloudLinux settings in the Package manager [case 49006]

As suggested by DavidG, I'm opening a new thread about being able to manage CloudLinux settings in the package manager.

Currently Cloud Linux allows you to choose %CPU, Memory per user and in the future will allow you to also limit IO.
I would love to be able to set limits per cPanel plans in WHM in the package manager.
Currently CloudLinux devs can't do this themselves because the necessary hooks don't exist yet.

My request is to either add the necessary hooks so others can develop these settings or for cPanel to develop these settings so that CloudLinux users can change their plans to include %CPU, Memory and later IO limits.

CloudLinux provides simple commands to change these settings so it would not be much work to add these settings to the current package manager for CloudLinux users.

    Thank you.

Thats a great idea. I would be more than happy to see an hook that allow not only CloudLinux devs to integrate this feature on their package, but also other developers.

For example, it would be nice to limit the backup space for each user with R1soft, etc.

Is there no one else interested in package hooks ? This wouldn't be just for CloudLinux; you could also imagine other possibilities like being able to manage settings for other programs not supported by cPanel.

This sounds very interesting and I would like to have this possibility in the package manager too.

+1 Will be very useful in differentiating packages by CPU usage/RAM usage etc.

Currently, in WHM you can only manage things on a user-by-user basis rather than per-package. I am optimistic this will change as we work to better integrate cPanel&WHM with CloudLinux now that we support CloudLinux.

This case has been refined to focused strictly on CloudLinux settings, with the intent to make this pluggable in the future. So both will ultimately be accommodated, but CloudLinux is taking priority at the moment.

We are planning this for version 11.32 but we are still early in development so that ETA can change.

As I noted earlier, the ETA on this feature could change because we are still in the early development stages. The ETA has been revised to version 11.34.
