Dear Sirs
At present, cPanel makes it impossible to add an existing zone to the account, because the process of setting up the account fails as cPanel will find the domain in /etc/named.conf
Support cPanel recommends removal the of the zone from the file /etc/named.conf and reload rndc, than again overwrite zone file and increase the serial in the zone.
Only after this we can add a domain in the process of creating a user account.
Thanks to the fact that the domain "mydomain.pl" is assigned to a user account, nobody else ( other user) can't create a subdomain in the domain mydomains.pl using "Addon Domains" Function
The problem starts if you want to run 2 or 30 cPanel servers where we do not want new users to be able to create a subdomain in the domain mydomain.pl using the tools "Addon Domains".
The new user should not have the ability to create subdomains in the domain mydomain.pl. To achieve this we need on each cPanel server manually perform the following steps:
remove the entry for the zone from the file /etc/named.conf
reload rndc
create a user account
restore the zone file
increase the serial in the zone file.
It is difficult (tedious), and impossible to do on 2-30 servers with cPanel software combined with the cPanel DNS cluster only. Consequently, this causes that the zone stops displaying itself in the internet during the time of manual configuration.
The proposal is as follows:
Add to cpanel feature allows connection of an existing zone (unallocated to any user) on hot without the need to manually edit files on the server.
Best regards
Admin
