While the backup directory scheme make sense from the stand point of a mirror of /home, it is very impractical to those who want to go beyond the traditional backup scheme of cPanel from a scripting and access point of view.

For example, if I want to do backups and I want to create snapshots for certain folks, you have to be tricky and inefficient with the code to provide a rotation script that copies the daily for just that domain. The same goes for weekly, monthly, etc.

It would be more practical if daily, weekly, monthly backups were stored inside the domain.com directory. This would allow me to have a dedicated script for that domain or all domains as I see fit. For that domain, I can have a daily, daily+01, daily+02, etc with minimal script management.

It also allows for easier access. I can setup ftp accounts such that it is from a single location and I don't have to link in multiple locations.

I like the idea. Don't know if it is tecnically possible, but surely the backup folder would look fancier and do a good job for ease of use and storage
