Backup Mail Server Functionality

Hello,

For companies that use exchange as the primary mail server, it would be useful to have cPanel / WHM to act as a backup mail server. For example

if we configure the domain as follows

10 exchange.domain.com
20 cpanel.domain.com

Then when the exchange.domain.com is unavailable, it would be useful to have cpanel.domain.com to queue up the mail so that it can be pushed through at a later date to the primary server. I have used exchange in this example to show the example clearly. However I would have cpanel servers at different data centres in order to configure email in this way with redundancy if cpanel could queue mail for another cpanel server until it comes back online again.

Can you elaborate how this proposal varies from the existing native functionality of allowing use of the cPanel/WHM server only as a backup mailserver while some other server is the primary mail server?

You will see this option on the Create a New Account screen and the MX Editor.
