cPanel needs to support CalDav and CardDav to allow for the ability to synchronize calendars and contacts along with the email sync in IMAP so as to enable over the air synchronization with Smart Phones and iPads.

If you want to go really strong, how about over the air sync with push technology to iPhone and Activesync integration as well...

    Regards.

Oddly enough today I was playing with Thunderbird+Lightening and Google Calendar.

I was unable to write to Google Calendar until I had installed the Provider for Google Calendar addon.

Perhaps all cPanel needs is a similar addon, I'm not sure on the protocols utilised, but it may be worth investigating...

To provide a faster and more efficient means of accommodating both new and existing functionality and features, we're in the process of moving EasyApache from a primarily compile-on-the-server based system to a pre-compiled-binary/object system. We will continue maintaining EasyApache 3 for the foreseeable future but will not be implementing new major feature requests until we've released the new version. As always, your requests are welcome for both major and minor new features, but again, we will not be making any major changes until once we're confident we can reliably support them in EasyApache 3's successor.

I, too, would love to see cPanel support for CalDAV. Many of my hosting clients are organizations with calendars they would like to make available via subscription in Google Calendar or iCal.

    Thanks for listening.

Can we get an update on this?

Many of our clients want to share their calendars, especially between several devices like their laptops, cellular phones (Blackberry, iPhone, Android, Nokia, etc) and Tablets (generally Android or Windows Mobile). But, they also sometimes need to share a "public" calendar with clients, or on their websites. So we need something that may not require authentication but a specialized token?

The status has not changed: we are waiting until after EA3 before considering major changes to Apache.

Status on this feature? As the last update is several months old.

Also can someone fill me in on what EA3 is?
