Default [Case 31963] Visual Disk Utilization report ("View Disk/Quota Usage") in WH

Resellers have access to "View Bandwidth Usage" to see how much bandwidth they are using. But how do they view the same information, but for Disk Utilization / Disk Quota ? Perhaps I'm missing something, or have accidentally turned off something the reseller needs?

You need to make sure you have the Quota Modification option ticked in the Reseller Privileges

    Located under the Super Privs header;

" Quota Modification (Warning: This will allow circumvention of account package limits if you are not using resource limits)"

This will show the reseller how much a client has used + total of all accounts.

Please make sure that Quota Modification Option is enable on your Reseller Previllages. Below mentioned are the steps to check the quota modification.

Reseller Center from Reseller Section --> Click on Edit Privileges/Nameservers --> Enable option quota Modfication on Super Privelege section

There is no current method of displaying this at this point in time.

I do not recommend enabling the Quota Modification super privilege as that will allow the Reseller to override certain protections you have in place ( e.g. Resource limits, package limits, etc ).

A rather crude way is to tally the Disk Used column in List Accounts. I'm sure someone on the Developer forum could help you whip up a script using the XMl-API that could provide this information in a better format.

If you are using a webhost, you can ask them what your disk space your using.

Kenneth, what is the current process to request features? This is clearly one that needs to be added, and as you said, it shouldn't be that hard, eh?

The same process as always. Just ask nicely I'm opening a feature request with the developers right now.

Thanks! I thought the OLD process was to open a Bugzilla report and mark it as a feature request. But now you don't use Bugzilla anymore, right?

The Bugzilla system is in place for customers to request features or report bugs. We use a different system internally ( and provide a mapping between the two ).

Question Visual 'View Disk Space Usage' by user

In WHM you currently have a visual representation of the users bandwidth usage under “View Bandwidth Usage”

Is it possible to create a similar visual representation of the usage for the disk space of all the users?

To help clarify understanding of the desired feature request, are you asking for a page in WHM that would show visual graphs (such as a pie graph) of disk usage for each user?

What type of visual representation would you like to see and how should it appear?

What disk quota or disk usage data should the visual representation include, and how fine-grained should the information be?

Is there specific disk usage or quota-related data that you would like to see represented?

As an example, would you like to see a separate pie graph for each user, displayed only after clicking on a user's account from a list, where the graph includes individual pie slices for different areas of disk usage, such as SQL database usage, home directory usage, or more fine-grained areas?

Default Another View disk space request

My hosting company (5quidhosts) suggested I come here with my request ... and I find johnburk has just done the same.

I've attached a pdf of the bandwidth list which shows the approx. format of the disk usage list I'd like.

Obviously, it wouldn't be quite the same, as the 'usage' column wouldn't be reset every month.

Columns which would be most useful are:
    • username
    • domain name
    • used to date (in mb)
    • limit set (in mb)
    • bar graph
    • % of limit used
    • % change since last month

This last one ... % change since last month would help with forward planning as we could see how quickly space was being used up (as people add files and images, for example).

Look forward to hearing back ... and getting this useful tool!

    Hi Don,

Sorry if my request was not clear. It is much more simple than you might think.

It is basicly link the image in this link (BTW not my company, just found it on google) but for disc space.

    Just like David suggests.

So is this something for cPanel to consider?

Thank you for the clarification; the provided example helps greatly to ensure we more accurately understand the desired visualization.
