Since wildcard SSL's are valid products, they should be properly supported by the SSL installer (would like to see this added) and putting in this feature request.

I'm using wildcard SSL certificates from cPanel for several years and works fine.
If you have been then please post a how to for cpanel 11.24.2 versions as I find this not to work.
follow these directions
Globe SSL Certificates - Knowledgebase - cPanel/WHM CSR Generation
NOTE Follow the stuff for the wildcard
It is possible to generate a CSR for and install a wildcard SSL certificate using the existing SSL features and functions in cPanel/WHM.
When specifying the domain name, such as via the WHM SSL/TLS functions, use an asterisk for the sub-domain name, such as "*.domain.tld", instead of just "domain.tld" or "www.domain.tld".
Please note that the cPanel user account must have a dedicated IP address assigned prior to installing the SSL certificate; however, you may generate the CSR and RSA private KEY at any time.
The documentation for these features is available here:

cPanel: Security >> SSL/TLS Manager - TWiki

I've had much trouble trying to get a WildCard SSL setup in cPanel. I would like to ask that cPanel in the future supports this feature as it is a common feature of many web apps to use sub domains as account access. Since there can be hundreds to thousands of accounts on a web app it doesn't make since to install separate SSLs for each account.
I've been a huge fan of cPanel but think this is a pretty large whole in the software. Thanks for the consideration.
Hi All,
I second this request, would be great to have this, even if it is WHM side only, and on the TLS manager when installing there is a tick box to enable wildcard where it then makes the changes in the background as per : http://forums.cpanel.net/583457-post8.html
Or better still add it to the cpanel side too so that its an easy and painless task for the customer.
I have merged the 2 Feature Requests for Wildcard SSL support.
There are more and more guys looking to implement wildcard SSLs and, with the quick spread of this type of certs, a feature that would help us automate "a wildcard SSL to all the existing subdomains" is becoming a must. Please consider implementing such feature.
Thank you.
We are actively working on revamping our SSL interfaces and back-end. This specific issue will not be resolved in 11.30 since that version is essentially done as far as new features are concerned. I think it is unlikely we'll see this in 11.32, but possibly 11.34 or 11.36 this may be accommodated more easily.
