I can see the argument for purely a load average approach on servers where compression is the main bottleneck, but I think the concerns of most folks when it comes to backups is disk access driving up iowait and causing the server to have sluggish performance even with a low load average (though iowait does contribute to load average indirectly).
Before I send a final report to our developers, is my report at http://forums.cpanel.net/f145/backup...tml#post795621 still okay or does it need modified to better meet your needs?
+1 from me. It's horrible when multiple users try and initiate backups at the same time.

Great! +1 for this feature request.
Hello David! I just wanted to point out in your report that the backup screen in cPanel must warn the user that "this backup has been queued and it will be executed as soon as previous tasks are completed". You deal with the message. But the UI must tell the user why it is not being executed now. I know it cannot calculate ETA, but it may print the amount of previous tasks until this begin to be executedJust a nice detail to chill expectations from the end user.
I had a customer with multiple hosting accounts decide to run a full backup on all of her accounts at once. And, as it turns out, this person has several accounts with very large disk space (8-20GB). It practically killed the server.
YES, please figure out a way to queue full backups. +1 for this feature request. :-)
