cPanel redirecting to request URLs after login
Hello,
I went to submit a feature request today and saw the notice that bugzilla is dead and no new submissions are being accepted. I was redirected to the Customer Portal, but there seems to be no place to submit feature requests... only support submissions. Is this the official channel for submitting feature requests at this time? I would like to request the ability for cPanel to redirect to URLs after sign-in. This way I may reference a particular page/resource to a customer in an email when fulfilling support requests. Right now if they were to see a link in their email pointing to: https://host.name.com:2083/frontend/x3/cron/index.html they would be redirected to the cPanel login page. But once logging in they would be sent to the main page, not the requested URL. It is unnecessarily sloppy to either: 1) Have them log in first and come back to the email for link 2) Describe in detail the navigation process to a feature Please consider adding this small feature to a future release of WHM. I was unable to reproduce the described issue when testing on our latest EDGE builds (11.25.0-EDGE_41315). Upon testing I used a URL formatted exactly like the provided example but upon log-in I was redirected to the appropriate feature named "Cron Jobs" as per the expected behavior.

Here are the two additional versions tested: 11.24.5-RELEASE_38506 11.25.0-CURRENT_40255 If the issue persists on the affected system please submit a ticket so that we can investigate the issue more in-depth. If needed the link in my forums signature may be used to initiate a ticket submission. When possible, please PM me the ticket ID so I may follow-up on this internally.

Any chance this could be expanded to do rewrites on the /cpanel link?
For example, going to: http://example.tld/cpanel/cron/index.html Would redirect to the corresponding cPanel link: https://host.name.com:2083/frontend/x3/cron/index.html Say you have 20 different servers and you want to send a message out to all of your clients with their corresponding domain name, each message could include a link to the crontab page by using: http://theirdomain.com/cpanel/cron/index.html (theirdomain.com would be different in each message that is sent out, it would actually be their domain name) Which would then redirect to the corresponding cPanel link for that account as defined by that server's set up. |
