I would opt more for Ubuntu 10.04 (upcoming which will have a long support )

When we are ready to begin supporting additional operating systems, we will focus on server OSes with long term support. For example, we may not consider supporting the desktop edition of Ubuntu, but we may consider supporting Ubuntu Server LTS (LTS = with Long-Term Support).
mike1s, at this point would supporting Ubuntu Server LTS be more of what you are looking for, or should I fork this thread for Debian in one thread and Ubuntu Server LTS in another thread?

Ubuntu 10.04 Server edition will be LTS , that's the reason i mentioned it ( already doing beta tests at home )
I have updated the title of this thread to reflect that this discussion encompasses Ubuntu Server LTS (a Debian-based distribution) as well as Debian.
We'd love to see Ubuntu 10.04 LTS supported here.
It's shaping up to be an awesome release, and with the ability to also offer cPanel on it... goodness!!
I would absolutely love to see cPanel work on Ubuntu itself. I've always had issues with CentOS 3-5. Its always something with it. Takes forever to boot, and does nothing interesting at all. Ubuntu is a whole different story. I enjoy using Ubuntu itself and I would do anything to get cPanel working on a Ubuntu system.![]()
By Ubuntu, are you referring to the desktop variant or Ubuntu Server LTS? I assume since you are using cPanel/WHM, you are running a commercial hosting operations and thus would want to use Ubuntu Server LTS to minimize downtime caused by significant OS upgrades, but I could be mistaken.
Of course Ubuntu Server LTS
I'd like to throw my name into the hat to try the beta for this if it is ever created. I have a few Ubuntu Servers (LTS versions) on VPS type hosting plans, as well as a shared hosting arrangement for Ubuntu Server that we're trying to get off the ground.
