Default E-mail Tools: Master Records & Test E-mail

With the upcoming DKIM feature and the need to have more control over SPF and DomainKeys, it would be nice to have a master set of controls. I want to:

    1. Force SPF, DomainKeys, and DKIM on all users
    ...
    3. Push/Reset records to everyone

    ...

EDIT: Other items have been forked onto their own threads

    Hi,

I agree with this feature request. The ability to setup SPF and Domain Keys is very necessary especially after server moves.

Please add your voice of support to this thread so we can get Cpanel to implement this.

    Regards,
    Suhail.

Is this even being considered for something like 11.32? It seems to be a must for a release that is not coming quick enough.

I don't think this is getting much consideration...

Once this feature request gets more traction, I'll discuss it with the developers. However, right now only 3 people in support of this feature request.

    This is a must.

And there is already a big thread for DKIM support, so I think its not just three or four users asking for it, this is something that entire cPanel userbase need it.

More and more domains are having problems with mail delivery, so this is becoming more of a necessity. Manually enabling DomainKeys and SP usually helps, but global tools would be a good way to help the problem proactively.

    +1

It would be OK to be able to set the default value for all new accounts but even better if we could do a mass change.

I can't see any reason why an account would not want these options (SFP set to allow all domains/IPs by default). We also get quite a lot of requests asking why their emails aren't getting through…

Currently, version 11.30 is in EDGE and will soon be propagating to all production tiers, paving the way for 11.31/11.32 to begin propagating through pre-production tiers.
Not to sound ungrateful that this is coming and all, but what pre-emptive maintenance (aka cleanup of DK) could I do without the tool requirement I outlined in this thread? I mean this as a serious question, not one of sarcasm to promote my idea, etc.

The last thing I want is bloated records that don't do anything and have to be manually edited/erased because it isn't supported anymore.

When upgrading to version 11.32 all DomainKeys records, information, etc are converted to DKIM records, information, etc. There should be no clean up required, except for any manual modifications you made[*].

As for the feature request in this thread we are evaluating inclusion of an interface in WHM that would allow Resellers the ability to enable or disable DKIM for their accounts (we're also considering SPF in the same UI).

We have not yet considered adding the ability to create such records at time of account creation.

    Footnote:

    * If you added a post account creation hook that referenced our domain keys installer script, you'll need to update that hook. The domain keys installer script will no longer exist as of 11.32.

    I can handle that.

I think this should be added as part of root. E-mail message headers still reference the hostname of the server at some point and yahoo is vicious about checking that from what I can tell. If root cannot force it, then one bad apple user can ruin it for everyone, correct?

This should be there for DKIM and SPF on both current and new accounts. It would also be nice if this SPF tool would scan for dedicated IPs and add them automatically to each SPF record assuming the one EXIM tweak option is set for sending out via the dedicated IP.

I don't quite understand the hook thing you mentioned.
