Fetching as in allowing cPanel to get email from other email accounts, also know as POP. Basically enabling the ability to get email from other accounts in cPanel.

I am confused, in what scenario would this be useful?

You could use forwarders so emails sent to different addresses all arrive in one inbox.

If you just want to read the email of other users under your cPanel account, you can login to IMAP (not POP) using your cPanel username and your cPanel password to do that.

Also, you can setup Horde to download mails from another email account(s).

Automatic e-mail fetching for IMAP could be useful when moving a customer to cPanel from another hosting provider not using cPanel. But in this case would only be used once to move the e-mails and not be used on a permanent cron basis.

The only time I could see fetching POP automatically would be with a webmail solution, and horde does this. If you are fetching e-mail with an e-mail client then you could either set up a forwarder or just set your e-mail client to fetch emails from both servers.

    Am I missing something ?
