I would LOVE to see this implemented soon as well. Can we have an update on the progress from cPanel please?

Would the implementation of pigz also speed up incremental backups? I know that currently incrementals still utilize gzip, even though not to produce a compressed backup.
+1 for this!

How is this going? When is this implemented in CPanel?
Any news on this?
It's planned for 11.34 so it should be out around 6 months after 11.32 became stable… (based on previous major version updates)
Why's this no longer tagged with 11.34?
Any progress on this? Does it cut down on the load too?

One thing you may want to check on however is the use of Better Linux.
If your backups are killing you - give it a shot - it can control the Disk I/O issues - but of course the downside is that backups will be slower... :-(
We still use R1soft - however having some options would be great.
