    Default Filemanager, upload from URL

It would be great to be able to get the file manager to upload files from a URL as well as from the "Browse" button.

When manually installing scripts from shell we often use wget to get the file and unzip to uncompress it. However for people who don't know how to use shell access, unzipping from filemanager is already possible and allowing direct download from URL instead of having to download archive to computer and then upload it again could help customers speed up their installations.

One of the main reasons why customers request shell access to to speed up installations. Using the file manager to download large script files would achieve the same goal in a much easier and safer manner.

Thumbs up Re: Filemanager, upload from URL

I like the idea. This very forum offers the ability to upload from your desk or from a URL.

+1 for this, sometimes you may need to upload files that actually are hosted in another website out of the current server.
