Default Indicate success or failure of cPanel backup in subject line [Case 49067]

When a customer uses the Backup Wizard and chooses a Full Backup, then chooses "Secure Copy (SCP)" as the destination, they are told that they will receive an email when the backup is complete.

However, the email that is received does not specify whether the Backup was properly sent to the SCP destination. My experience is that if it fails, there is something mentioned in the email. However, if it is SUCCESSFUL, then there is NO indication.

I have attached a .txt file which is the complete email that I received from a recent Full Backup via SCP. I've only changed the usernname and domain, all else is complete. You'll noticed that there isn't a single mention of sending this file via SCP, even though that was the whole purpose of the Full Backup.

Can there be some indication in this email to the customer that the SCP was, in fact, successful?

I am continuing to follow up internally on this. Once I have determined a proper course of action to get this addressed, I'll let you know.

Thanks, David! I know it's a small item, but doing all the little things well all help add up to a great product. :-)

I talked to our developers. As anticipated, this may be a quick fix. Basically, our plan is to do like is done in the Full Server backup where success or failure is noted in the subject line making it very clear at a glance if something was successful and it will also make email filtering easier.

Hi David. Just curious if you could poke at this case and see if there is any movement. Currently, there is still absolutely NO confirmation in the backup log that the SCP of the file to the remote server was successful or not. Scary / frustrating.

Thanks for the update, David. I'll check back in another 5 months.
