Hello,
I see that there are a few threads out there related to load balancing with cPanel. However I think what some people are looking for is really beyond the scope of what cPanel should be doing (IE, the actual load balancing itself, or clustering MySQL).
What I think the key thing that should be focused on is replication/synchronization of cPanel configuration and accounts, as well as making it easy to specify a non-standard mount point for home directories (read, something like an OCFS2 or Gluster mount, which would be used for actual static data synchronization).
I believe that the clustering of MySQL and the actual load balancing would be best left to other means - such as using DRBD/HA-Linux for HA MySQL, and an actual load balancer (Zeus, Cisco CSS, etc) for that side of the house. But I digress.
In terms of configuration/account synchronization, it might be a good idea to offer multiple ways of doing it: either via rsync or being able to have the configurations stored on a network storage mount (IE, OCFS2 or Gluster like in the above example).
Anyways, these are just thoughts from a sales engineer at a moderately well known hosting company.
