Make cPanel IPV6 Compatible

Do you use IPv6? If not, IPv6 put simply is the new and improved ip addressing system. IPv4 is over 20 years old and with more computers and servers coming onto the internet, demanding more address space, we run out of addresses. But, ipv4 addresses are 32 bit, thus not allowing any more than 4,294,967,296 ips. However, ipv6 is 128 bit and will allow approximately 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,45 6 addresses. A /64 prefix (which is what a general home user gets) would have around 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 usable ips. Here is a basic subnet table (borrowed from linuxreviews.org):

Now, if you want cpanel to be ipv6 compatible, please post on this bug:

Excellent point

The Internet is evolving and I consider it a bit irresponsible for CPanel not to support IPv6. Windows Vista will be launched shortly and it will support IPv6, meaning consumers will soon be making these type of network requests.

Is there a roadmap entry for this?

Here is a question to the cpanel leaders!...

When Cpanel will be compatible with ipv6??

this new protocol is growing more and more every day .. every ISP is givin free of charge /48 ipv6 .. and a lot of our customers request yours ipv6 blocks... so .. why cpanel dont give us a hand and add the compatibility with this protocol???

guys... dont let the train pass... make your cpanel the best panel in the world and add ipv6 support. please!

IPV6 support

Just wondering if there are plans or a timeline to bring in IPV6 support for cpanel?

We are looking to start deploying IPV6 soon in preparation for the eventual runout of IPV4 address space, which in our area APNIC says will happen within the next 18 months....

There is a feature request here:

ipv6 on WHM/cPanel

I did a search to find it, and saw this thread too.

It kind of scares me that there seems to be no information on what cPanel is doing to prepare for IPv6 deployment

Exclamation IPv6 now!

It truly scares me that cpanel is this unprepared for ipv6.

Competing control panels have had ipv6 support for some time, and we are now at the point where in about 2 years there will be no more ipv4 space available.

Our company is attempting to keep up to date with technology, however this 'small' omission may have big repercussions.

If ipv6 isnt already at the top of the TODO list, it bloody well should be!
