how is it? I'm looking forward moving to a provider does IPv6, but if cpanel can't support it well, I'm in trouble...

You can read our FAQ on IPv6 at:

    WHMsFAQ < AllDocumentation/AllFAQ < TWiki

This FAQ includes a link to the feature request page for this functionality.

I voted, and I hope others do to. This is an issue that will only increase in importance with time.

I've already had a couple of requests for IPv6 support. For now, I'm looking at trying to see if Hurricane Electric Free IPv6 Tunnel Broker will work for me - I have a fellow geek friend who has played with this, so I thought I'd pass it along for others to try as well. :-)

Yes. The problem here is IPv6 is too important for cPanel to be waiting around for people to vote on it. This is one of those things were they need to take the lead and implement this. They have people there who understand that IPv6 is coming and it needs to be done.

Waiting for people to vote on supporting IPv6 shouldn't be happening.

To better organize the discussion of this topic we have merged several threads relating to the same enhancement requesting that cPanel and WHM have compatibility with Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6); the newly-unified (merged) thread is also relocated to the new Feature Requests forums area.

We have updated our FAQ regarding IPv6 to reflect our ongoing efforts to support IPv6:

    WHMsFAQ < AllDocumentation/AllFAQ < TWiki

Work on IPv6 support in cPanel/WHM is in progress. You can subscribe to this thread so you are notified when IPv6 is supported in all builds of cPanel/WHM and can participate in this ongoing conversation about IPv6 support.

I was wondering what the timetable for IPv6 implementation is, will it be this month, this quarter, this year or further away?

The timetable is for after this quarter. Unfortunately, I don't have any greater precision on an ETA at this time, but we do appreciate the inquiry.

Please elaborate. Who is "we" and what, specifically, is "out of IPv4?" Are you just vocalizing that your company will fill up its current IPv4 allocation, given current trends, by the date you mention?

Note that this is just a prediction of exhaustion of the central registry, each regional registrar should have IPs to last about double this time; it's not my intention to diminish the importance of IPv6, however.
