Well, what can I say...
Two years and "is being worked on"
...
If you read through this thread you will see that much is already taking place including handling of the transition from Mongrel to Passenger for existing RoR users. Much of what's being worked on at the moment is rather mundane, like resolving the issue where Apache PassengerEnabled directives are incompatible with our redirects functionality.
Hearing it's being worked on is nice. Knowing that the work is mundane (as opposed to what, one wonders) is also cool. Know what would be great? A realistic ETA. That would be great. Is there an ETA we can count on or should I start shopping around? I mean, if it's going to be 2013 before I can get RoR 3.1 support I would prefer to start shopping now rather than develop for an older version and have to look forward to rewriting stuff in 6-12 months.
Thank you,
A User
We do not issue date-based ETAs as we focus on ensuring software meets quality standards before propagating it through our update tiers. The only ETAs we publish are version-based ETAs. At this time, the ETA for this overhaul of RoR support is version 11.34 (the production version that comes after 11.32). Version 11.32 is in the EDGE and CURRENT tiers as of writing, but not yet in RELEASE nor STABLE.
