Here in Argentina I've seen several big players using the Daytona control panel, which is a bit more than sh**, but it still allow for multiuser login whereas cPanel does not Please implement this.
The implementation is similar to having multiple FTP users for the root folder.

    +1 on this.

The subuser can be given permissions for each section of the CPanel interface.

    So I can have:
an Email Admin who has access only to the email account section
a Web Admin who has access to logs, file manager and databases
maybe a Domain Admin who manages the domain section

Default cPanel multiple users with roles

hello id like to see an option from whm or still better from within cpanel to add new users with roles or access levels to certain functionality to manage the account.

this is a necessity for big website owners where one person manage for example emails, another one ie a developer databases, php, ror and other things, and a team of web designers manage files trough ftp.

in all my years using cpanel and whm (about 7) ive been asked and hoped for this functionality dozen of times but i leave this kind of users in shadow because they should share the same functionality with all the team where everyone can change everything leading to misconfiguration problems.

+1 btw b4 i found this thread i added a similar to this one. on the next URL

    http://forums.cpanel.net/f145/cpanel...es-277552.html

This feature is very important and in all my years (more than 7) of using it i can't understand why it has not yet been implemented, other $hitty panels like plesk or even the free ispconfig have this essential feature years ago. ive just migrated an account with more than 60 domains from plesk to cpanel but now the customer regret the migration because of the lack of this feature. they must delegate email functions to employees who are not from it department.

+1 multi role or subusers is a must requirement on any company this days.

I have noticed that most of my clients actually handle their whole cPanel account to their webdesigners and other people. This is just risky.

Sub-accounts which can be limited by features would be great.

Hi - I'm new to the forum but joined really for this reason.

I run a small but growing online radio station, with the aim of turning it into a full on media production company (have film experience, degree etc). The problem is I'm more of a producer/organiser etc. I know little bits of coding, and know some computer stuff but a lot of website stuff, database, coding and so on is beyond me.

I have a few people with access to cpanel, basically people I trust, but I've had bad experience in the past and would feel a lot safer, especially now we are looking at getting more technical staff, in having a multiple user type system. Basically I'd love to be able to decide who had access to what, be able to log who does what, and obviously have some protection - basically they couldn't mess with my account - that way if anyone tried to change anything I'd be able to see who did it log wise and use my admin account to fix it and block them.

The only thing is it seems like this feature has been asked many times. Compared to other panels I've always found cpanel the easiest. A previous host quite a few years ago used their own panel and most of the people I had working for me at the time had issues working with it due to being used to working with cPanel. cPanel is the big popular one, yet as many have mentioned many small ones have had user account things for ages.

Is there any plans to integrate this any time soon - I think it would be the one feature that could really blow the competition away. So any ideas of a possible date?

    Thanks

Default Guest Cpanel Username and Password

    Feature request:
offer the ability for a main cpanel username/owner to offer "guest" cpanel usernames so that database and all access (or limited access) can be available, while owning the account. So after one web designer is done, the original owner can guarantee that his "master" username and password will still work to remove any other username/password.

    As originally requested:

"Lotsa people would love to have a 'guest' user for cPanel so they can give info to their dev to have all access that he'd need, but then be able to turn off access at any time. Instead of going through the hassle of showing the slower ones how to make an FTP account and a DB user and expecting them to get that across, we just show them how to turn on guest access and set a password. Also we could rig it so that the customer can say exactly what access the guest account has, such as billing info, FTP rights, SSH, etc."

    Thank you for reviewing

+1 for this feature - this has been needed for many years - the ability to allow users access to manage their email accounts only is desperately needed. I got really excited when I found this thread and carefully read through the posts which started 2 years ago - really hoped that when I reached the last post that I would find that the feature is available only to find that it is still being pondered by the cpanel developers...I can't help but wonder if it will actually ever become a reality.
