My web host has just disabled all cPanel Backup/Restore capabilities for all of its customers. While I agree with their reasoning, they and I are "frustrated" by the fact that there is no way to disable only some types of Backups, while allowing others.
Specifically, I really like cPanel's Database Backup and Restore. And would like to continue using it. And my web host would like to continue offering it if only cPanel/WHM allowed the disabling of Filesystem backups without also disabling Database backups (and restores).
Yes, I could just use phpMyAdmin's EXPORT functionality, but even when I manage to figure out all the option boxes where check marks are required, I still don't have a backup that, among other advantages, has that nice comment line at the end that cPanel provides, so I know that my backup is complete. At 3 a.m., simple/fool-proof is important.
In summary: I would like to suggest more granularity in the disabling of cPanel Backup/Restore, to allow your customers to provide, for example, just database backup and restore through cPanel, without allowing filesystem backups.
