Unhappy Option for choosing account location when creating new account

I'm using whm/cpanel package and it very good.

Still I have a sugestion for developers,

Usually hosting servers contain more than 1 hard drive, with different sizes.

The cpanel software is missing the feature of choosing the files location when creating a new account.

For the moment it just chooses the partition with the largest space, which have the word home in it.

This is a major drawback, I want to be able to choose the exact location where to put files, using a dropdown,

For example I mount a hdd with fast speed (sdd drive, wd raptor ) but small (50 -100gb) and expensive under home2 and I want to use it for some special sites ( high paying clients, etc)

and another drive with 1tb under home3 for regular clients.

Now if I let this setup upon creation of new account, the cpanel software will just create a the new account on the 1tb hdd.

It would be nice to have a dropdown to choose the partition where I want to create the new account.

    Any thoughts on this ???

I'm sure I'm not the only one considering this.

You could create the account and then use the Rearrange Accounts feature to move it to the SSD. Admittedly, this is just an interim workaround until SSDs catch up with spinning platters in terms of capacity.

Let's see what others have to say on this, if there's enough positive feedback from many different people, we'll consider it.

    Yes and no,

It will automatically move new accounts on the largest hard drive, I thought about this, but it's too complicated.

Also using this option with dropdowns you could give a reseller the option to rent an entire separate harddrive, posibly something he brought or bought.

For example I have friend, he wants to buy a hard drive, put it on my server and use only that one, while I have resellers who create their own accounts - how can I explain them that I moved their accounts the second day after they created it - I will appear as a bad person.

While I do understand this is not an easy option to implement, but the developers from Cpanel are very good and this is an issue which should be fixed and they can do that.

Not really, that's about just taking a feature that moves 1 account at a time and allowing it to move multiple accounts at a time. This request seems to be more about setting the destination at the time of account creation and restricting a reseller's accounts to all be created within a specific physical device (if not specific mountpoint).
