Default Plugin using senderscore.org or senderbase.org

Senderscore.org plugin... or at least a senderbase.org plugin. lookups are NOT that hard to do. A module would even suffice people need to have the ability to track their reputation. These tools will keep people RUNNING TO cpanel instead of AWAY...

These are not DIFFICULT add-on's or modules, and they are definately needed. Just look at the sheer volume of MAIL related issues in these forums, and Cpanel staff count up your tickets..... DNSSTUFF.COM made DNS readable for idiots.... look where that "simple" tool went..... think of where you will be with at least the above funtionality.

The above feature request was split from the following thread to ensure minimal confusion between multiple requests, better organized discussion and maximum attention for posted ideas: Cpanel and EXIM Let's fix this!!! - cPanel Forums

Hi! I work for Return Path, which operates senderscore.org. What is it that you'd like to do with our Sender Score in cPanel?

    Hi jdfalk,

I am not the original poster of this suggestion, but I have been a long time user of your great services. (Thank You!).

I am *guessing* that they wanted cPanel to include functionality that would automatically display an IP#'s reputation score and/or warn a site owner or host owner if that reputation was poor?

Personally we don't resell hosting, so it's no problem for me to check our one IP manually against http://senderscore.org from time to time, but I can see how such an addon would benefit others.

    HTH,
    Marty

Yep, makes sense. They could do this through DNS lookups, using score.senderscore.com similarly to a dnsbl; the score will be in the last octet of the result.

If they expect to be doing a high volume of queries, need underlying data, or want to incorporate any of our more advanced monitoring tools, that's possible too through our ESP partnership program.

Just curious. why not devevlop a plugin with the capabilities for both services you offer and let us pay for each level of service using the plugin. License it to us but make it cheap enough for small business to use.

what do you think? I want to use this. I could pay someone to do it but if sendscore makes one for the masses then the masses will use it

Yes, this is a definite MUST HAVE option in cPanel. It will make everyone's lives to much easier if we could quickly see our server's IP address's reputation through WHM directly.

Basically this is what I would forsee

An area where you manage ip's in cpanel and have the ability to pull the simple senderscore for the ip's on the server, possible setup alerts when sender score takes a dive, this would help to identify issues on shared server infrastructure, before they impact the other clients.

Since you can access the senderscore.org site and see the senderscore without logging in this should not add a lot of LOAD to returnpaths site, but this could also work to return paths advantage.

Now if there is also an opportunity for an expanded account that could display unknown users, spamtrap hits, etc.. this would also be very helpful.

    Adding to the motion...

Would it be possible to use the "poor" senderbase / senderscore reputation as an optional RBL?

Like the ones we have today from spamhaus and spamcop

To avoid multiple querys, it could have a 24hs caché.
