Why we need this :
Quite a few of our customers need to access Webmail when they are not at home. SSL Ports over 1024 are very often blocked in hotels and administrations. We need https://webmail.domain.ext to work once the user has accepted the certificate when they are shown the error saying that the domain does not match the certificate.
We enforce SSL for webmail/cPanel and WHM in the tweak settings. When you access http://webmail.domain.ext it shows a link to https://domain.ext:2096 ! If it can show the webmail at httpS://domain.ext:2096 then why can't it stay on the default SSL port ?
Current setup :
When the hostname's SSL certificate is shared it prevents httpS:webmail.domain.ext from working and https://webmail.domain.ext redirects to https://webmail.domain.ext/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi
When hostname has an SSL certificate and it is not shared httpS:webmail.domain.ext works !
Our request :
Please look into why httpS://webmail.domain.ext works when shared SSL is deactivated on a server that has a SSL cert that is not shared any make it also work when the SSL cert is shared.
When the hostname's SSL cert is shared it shows the default webpage though SSL ! When it is not shared it shows the webmail also through SSL.
We want https://webmail.domain.ext to work in both situations and not have to choose between shared SSL and https webmail proxy.
