Default Weekly backups up to 7 times a week. Daily backups at least 7 times a week.

why when you click daily backups in the backup interval you still have to check every day you want the backup to run in the days to run backup area

surely if you chose daily backup then the system should automatically backup every day without you having to check the days you want the backup to run as you have already chosen daily backups.

What about if someone has a server that has a high load one day a week, every week and that day happened to be Wednesday? It makes sense then to disable backups on Wednesday but have daily backups every remaining day of the week. Granted, this is an arbitrary example, but I'm sure you can understand how some servers may have sites that drain resources only on specific days of the week.

It sounds like the ability to disable days of the week to run a daily backup is causing you an annoyance. If you can elaborate on how this annoys you, perhaps we can work towards a solution that suits your needs and those who want "daily backups except on Wednesdays" type of scenarios.

to me and i most liely can say a majority of people, when daily backup is chosed then this should backup each and every day SSMTWTF. if you want it to backup up on specific days taking your example and miss out wed, then chose weekly backups and chose which days you want backed up.

I am confused. You want weekly backups to be done every day (with the ability to disable specific days of the week)? Wouldn't that be a daily backup? Usually, weekly backups are done once per week at most.

which this can be done weekly by chosing all days SSMTWTF under weekly backups. to chose daily backups should mean that the backups will be done each day without the user having to chose which day as it clearly imples DAILY backup.

yes this is what you explained, as the weekly gives any user the option if a high server load day to not backup on that day, but as far as chosing the daily backup option this should backup every day automatically as in the UK daily means every day (7 days)

So if weekly backups happen several days in a 7 day period, what option should someone use if they want backups once a week?

right if you want to chose daily backups the system should backup every day (7 days) automatically.

if you have a server load heavy on a web but want to backup all other days they you can use the weekly backups and chose SSMTTF leaving out W.

if you only want a backup on a W then use the weekly option and only chose W.
