Default WHM Account Express Transfer Failback

    Good afternoon, everyone.

I've performed a few searches on this topic, but have not found any relevant posts. Please excuse me if this has been covered before.

I used the WHM Account Transfer / Express Transfer feature for the first time yesterday, and I must say it is an incredible tool. The fact that it updates the DNS and re-routes mail is fantastic. Great job, guys!

However, I ran into a snag on the destination server that caused me a big headache this morning. The destination VPS had an inode cap set at 70000. About 75% of the way through the transfer, my inodes maxed out and the transfer failed.

I opened a support ticket with the VPS root, but in the meantime I needed these websites active. Unfortunately, I could not find any option to failback the copied accounts on the origination server to active status. I had to manually edit the DNS zones for each domain and replace the IP addresses with the original server IP. I then had to go into each account and remove the RedirectMatch from each user's .htaccess file (for the "Page Moved" message) so that their sites would display again. I also had to reset their MySQL passwords since it appeared that those were reset during the transfer process.

I'm sure this doesn't happen very often, but I think it would be a great addition to have the ability to "undo" or failback an account transfer on the origination server so that it doesn't require so much manual work to restore an account to active status.

It's entirely possible that I missed a way to accomplish this in my search of the docs - if so, please enlighten me and accept my apologies. I did just read that this process actually suspends the accounts, in which case Unsuspending them should restore their MySQL databases, but I am unsure whether this will have any affect on the DNS & Mail forwards, or the "Page Moved" .htaccess redirect.

Regardless, I think some sort of single-click function to accomplish this "undo" (or even a command line script) would be extremely beneficial. If such a thing already exists, or if the Un-Suspending of the accounts accomplishes this, please let me know (and feel free to move this out of this forum).

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

You can use the /scripts/xfertool to perform these changes on the origination server. That is the tool the Express Transfer system uses to update the DNS, .htaccess, etc.

    Hello Silver_2000,

You can pass the --help flag and see the options:

    # /scripts/xfertool --help
    Usage: /scripts/xfertool (--changenameservers|--swapip|--setupmaildest|--blockdynamiccontent|--unblockdynamiccontent) at /scripts/xfertool line 97.
    Thanks.

    yeah
the wrong sysntax returns the same info
BUT I have no idea what the features are supposed to do

I tried LOTS of possibilities and simply decided to move the accounts back then move them again with the right check box checked
