Default WHM language selection and defaults

I was recently talking with the cPanel support team, about the WHM being partially translated to spanish when my client's cpanel locale was setup as "spanish", but without any way to translate the rest of the whm which is still in english.

It would be nice to have this two features on the next cPanel build:

1.- There should be a way to set up the default language for whm, since root doesn't have cpanel and thus there's no way to choose any language other than english (the default one) for him.

2.- There have to be a way to manually translate all WHM strings, just as it's actually working on the cPanel locale settings. This will also help you guys to implement new languages faster.

This will need to be on hold until WHM is translatable. Currently WHM is (natively) only available in English.

On WHM, when you have the locale set as "spanish", and go to "Add a Package" it's completely in spanish, but everything else, is in english, and it's impossible to translate it since there's not any section to do so.

A simple fix for it would be to force the English language until WHM is indeed translatable.

Setting a locale for a cPanel account or a hosting package (which only affects the cPanel interface) is not the same as translating WHM. We are currently working to resolve the remaining issues in the translation of the cPanel interface (e.g. new features often lack translations when first introduced).

Look, I'm not talking about it without having tested it.

WHM > Add a Package (only when logged as a reseller account who has the cPanel's locale being set as spanish), shows me everything in spanish:

Now again, with the root account (which doesn't have a locale), everything looks in English, as it's supposed to.

You should complete the Spanish translation, or give us some panel to do it by ourselves... otherwise you should force everyting to be shown in English; since showing it this way breaks the integrity of the site, and also our clients want us to complete the translation of the other links, which we can't do because the lack of a translation tool.

I apologize, I was not previously aware of this functionality. You are correct. Furthermore, pages in WHM that have been added or substantially modified during the past year have been architected to accommodate localization (translation). However, at this time, this process is not complete throughout the WHM interface. I have vocalized concerns that you and I have about incomplete translations in production environments to our Product Manager for consideration.

    Hi David,

In regards to the message you posted 2 years ago, as it's been more than 2 years since your last reply, I wonder if that info is still valid. I mean, if version 12 will natively support internationalization.

Also, 2 years later, is there any ETA for version 12?

I know we are working on equipping the WHM back-end and the command-line tools to be localized. This is still a work in progress, so I don't have firm ETAs yet on the completion of this degree of localization. Since that time, we've redefined version 12 to be characterized by multi-server capabilities, which means we could see localization throughout WHM before version 12, it is no longer arbitrarily locked into being a version 12 feature.
