    Default Cron-jon security question

    Hello !

We don`t want allow our customers to use "Cron-Job" So we disabled the cron from "Feature Manager"

i just needed to run the cron for my own website , that`s why i have enabled it and then i have confronted the below error when i wanted set the cron

/usr/bin/crontab permissions are wrong (6755). Please set to 4755.

i know that the problem could be solved by changing the permition :
    chmod 4755 /usr/bin/crontab

But i want to know if there is any security risk
, we don`t want allow anyone else to use cron , i just enabled it temporary ( from Feature Manager ) and then i will disabled when i set my own cron ,

Please Help me in this regards

    Thank You

When hosting in a shared environment there will always be some level of risk. I would correct the permissions as suggested, then consider restricting users access to the feature as you have been doing via the Feature Manager.

FYI: You don't need to enable "cronjobs" to setup a cronjob from the shell

For security, I'd go ahead and leave cronjobs off and just manually setup the cronjob you need for yourself from SSH.
