How block spammers on my server ?

Hi,

I need help on how to block spammers from using my server to send emails.

Is there any software, settings, etc. I need to have?

Today 3rd time my server's ip has been blocked in spam database , someone done spamming from my server , how to protect my server from it and how to find out that who have done this ?

I have checked /var/log/exim_mainlog but didn't find , Please guide me....

I don't want this to happen again. How can I protect server?

You can enable the SMTP tweak option from your WHM --> Security Center from Security sections. This option will prevent users from bypassing the mail server to send mail.

Personally, I'd leave the "SMTP Tweak Disabled" and install Chirpy's CSF Firewall (ConfigServer Services) and enable the SMTP Tweak equivalent from the firewall configuration (/etc/csf/csf.conf).

Hi,

Actually , spammer are using our server to run some cgi scripts , like (dark.cgi , coms.cgi etc..) , So please guide me how to protect my server from these type of scripts.

I have already enabled SMTP TWEAK through CSF but its not helpful for me.

I think mod_proxy or can i stop cgi script to upload on the server ? i m using pure-ftpd.

We have our servers set so people can't send anymore then 150 messages in an hour, however is there anything that will help protect against scripts that send mass amounts of email. We caught one guy yesterday but he had one hour who know's how much email he got out!

We get spammers on out network every couple months. I wish there was a simple way to track them down or send a report if a domain sends out more then so many emails. Someday I guess

The idea of having a report when a domain sends more than X emails is something that might make a good Feature Request. Feel welcome to post it to the Feature Request forum for cPanel/WHM.
