How to have a root SSL for cPanel/whm login

I am trying to figure out how to use a purchased SSL cert on the root login for cPanel/WHM.

I set one up for the server domain name, but it doesn't load the SSL when you login to cpanel for WHM...

How do you accomplish this, so apache loads the cert for cPanel/WHM, and not the "web site" for the root?

Apache and cPanel do not use the same SSL certificates. They are entirely separate services, so an SSL certificate installed for use by your Web sites is not used by cPanel for its interface. Apache is not involved in serving the cPanel interface.

To install an SSL certificate for use by cPanel, the WebHost Manager, and Webmail, use Main >> Service Configuration >> Manage Service SSL Certificates. Note that WHM, cPanel and Webmail all use the same certificate. You can also use this interface to install certificates for use by other services, such as Exim.

You may also want to edit the settings under "Redirection" in Main >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings.
