Hi.
I'm trying, since several days (weeks?), to install chkrootkit with the instrcutions on Additional Security Software but it seem that the wget link is broken.
Where can i get a true copy of chkrootkit ?
Thanks.

Hello,
The issue is that this appears to be due to the actual site being down for the downloads portion. If you even go to the wikipedia entry on it:
chkrootkit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The links all go to a non-working location.
This means the site itself needs to be contacted about the non-working links:
info@pangeia.com.br
You can view their site at Pangeia Informática - Página Inicial to find links for Email and the non-working downloads section off of it.
Thanks!

I've already done this, but the email is bounced ...![]()
The links appear to be working now. I don't know about the email address.
Additionally, it came to my attention that there is a newer updated version maintained for CentOS on the EPEL repository:
http://pkgs.org/centos-6-rhel-6/epel....rpm/download/
For example, that would be the one for CentOS 6, 64-bit. You could always search for chkrootkit in the repository for any other CentOS versions or architecture types.

Here is the list to all fedora/epel repos for chkrootkit:
Once the epel repo is in your yum list, just do yum install chkrootkit.

Could try this as well:
SolidShellSecurity | Tools > Chkrootkit Automatic Script Installer
Works pretty well.
