Password protect a folder inside of root

Any help would be great on this issue.

I'm trying to give a client ftp access to "public_html" but password protect one folder inside of public_html is this possible? if so how do i do this via cpanel?

I can see how to password protect the folder via the web, but it is not carrier this to ftp.

Correct, password protection for folders is only for HTTP/HTTPS, not FTP.

With our current implementation of FTP, anyone with FTP access to a folder also has access to all folders contained within that folder. If you are concerned about this, I'd recommend granting access only to a specific directory then relocate files as needed.
