All WHM 11.28 servers *HIGH LOAD*

Hello,

I've more than 100 servers, All are updated today to 11.28, Since the update I suffer from a huge load, It reaches out 70 and in some servers I get 200.

Any suggestions or same problem happens to anyone updated to 11.28 ?

I can confirm that this is an issue on our servers as well.
Extremely high load average escpecially in peak periods.

This has been happening from approximately Monday 15 Nov 2010

Spamd processes appear to be hogging resources but I am unsure if it is a cause or an effect.

I had the same but then I noticed the apache configuration.

Now to me it was obvious you did not use keepalive_timeout, As on the 11.28 its enabled, Now nothing else should cause a load, so check them settings out.

WHM > Service Configuration > Apache Configuration > Global Configuration >

You will see new settings what could possible lead to a high load.

KeepAlive settings is configured properly

KeepAlive: On
KeepAliveTimeout: 5 Seconds

But this was not on as default compaired to the previous release.

This is the only major change what could affect loads thats why I mentioned it

I must agree with people on 11.28 stable release on VPS and on my dedicated server both servers cpu load jumped to the roof Usually it peaks from time to time.. was something new added in crontab ? not 100% sure but I think there is more entries there then before

What are you guys using? Stable, Release, Current, or Edge?

tried stable than after I saw huge Spikes.. tried Release .. same thing nothing changed

i have same server, i see the same load on httpd, is this fixed or still ticket is open ?

ramindia, while this thread is from the past year, this quoted comment below is still the suggested way forward if you are experiencing this issue I would think.
