Question Page loading slow (=>1min.) for WHM List Accounts, and login to cPanel account

    Hi,

When using "list accounts" in WHM it takes almost 1 minute to load accounts list. Also when login to Cpanel it also takes almost 1 minute.
There is no high load on server and I have tried following...

    1.) restarted cpanel service
2.) Tried that "Anonymous ftp-account trick".
3.) Checked for httpd.conf lock file (not found)
4.) Tried to run /scripts/upcp --force (it hanged, and I had to kill it)
    5.) Now running /scripts/fixquotas

    Any other advice, thanks?

Via root SSH access, please let us know the output from the following commands:
    Code:
    # grep -H '' /etc/*release /usr/local/cpanel/version /var/cpanel/envtype
    # grep "numacctlist\|conserve\|gzip" /var/cpanel/cpanel.config
    # perl -v | grep "v[0-9]"
    # uname -a

Does running "df -h" work on your machine?

Did you try doing what Don posted to get some more information to help debugging it.

I have also noticed that with each cpanel upgrade my system is getting slower. I am running a 8 core Xeon server with low loads. Any advice is appreciated.

Please clarify exactly what you are experiencing in greater detail.

Are you seeing an issue in cPanel, or in WHM?

What page are you accessing when the issue occurs?

Is the system running in a virtual environment (VPS)?

    > Please clarify exactly what you are experiencing in greater detail.
I am experiencing slow load times when listing clients in WHM, cpanel logins and webmail. The procs consume a lot of CPU as well.

    > Are you seeing an issue in cPanel, or in WHM?
Both. Espically client list in WHM and control panel and webmail load times in cpanel.

    > What page are you accessing when the issue occurs?
    see above

    > Is the system running in a virtual environment (VPS)?
No, this is a 64 bit dedicated. The procs mentioned above consume a lot of cpu.

Thank you for the additional information. To accurately diagnose and properly investigate the described symptom it is necessary to do so via "root" (Administrator) access; accordingly, it will help immensely if you submit a support request so that we may directly inspect the system and surrounding circumstances. Upon submitting a support request please send me your ticket ID number so that we may follow-up internally. For reference, the links in my forums signature may be used to initiate a ticket submission (e.g., Support Options).

Yes; as soon as we are able to confirm applicable corrective measures I will ensure we reply in this thread to help share any relevant resolution information that could be applied to other servers.

At the present time I am not aware of a support request that was received in reference to this forums thread. If someone reading this thread submits a support request where it is believed the difficulty may be related, I would greatly appreciate if he or she may send me a private message or post a reply mentioning the ticket ID so that we may follow-up.

Since time has passed what was the solution or way to handle these slowdowns on some installations?

As Don's last post indicated, we did not receive a support request to investigate the issue. A ticket using WHM > Support Center > Contact cPanel or via the link in my signature would be necessary to further troubleshoot. Please post the ticket number here upon submission.

I don't understand why it's so hard for you to tell us what the problem is, I have had this problem on more than one server, everything else runs great, very low load, only when first loading WHM it can take up to a minute. The fact so many others are having this problem, but cPanel refuses to list the instructions on how to correct this is beyond me, seems like you would save a lot of work by not having to tell the same thing to everyone and make them open a ticket -- spit it out, what is the problem? My problem is the exact same as everyone else in this thread.
