    Default Server Optimization?

    Hi all,

I'm having some issues with Apache/PHP/MySQL hogging my system.

    Specs:
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.40GHz / 1GB RAM
    Hosting about 27 accounts..

Sample Apache Status: (nearly the same all the time)
    CPU Usage: u1.01 s.84 cu100.99 cs0 - 1.33% CPU load
    8.1 requests/sec - 120.2 kB/second - 14.8 kB/request
65 requests currently being processed, 1 idle workers

    MySQL Daily Process Log:

I'm mainly looking to optimize MySQL as it is constantly using CPU and memory. I currently use the standard my.cnf, with no custom settings.

    Any help?

    Thanks,
    Jared

There are a few tools that you can use to help with optimizing MySQL, however, with only 1gb of RAM, I don't think there will be much you can squeeze out of it. I have a couple of tools posted here:

    SolidServers.ca » Blog Archive » Tuning / Tweaking MySQL

If you need someone to look further into it, feel free to contact me.
