Lightbulb what is the .cpan and .cpcpan inside the /home

    hi,

What is the .cpan inside the /home, I found it today, Although I installed the fantastico yesterday, so is there any relation between both?

    Code:
    ls -lh
    drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4.0K Apr 21 06:57 .cpan/
    drwx------ 6 root root 4.0K Apr 22 06:56 .cpcpan/

    root@web[/home/.cpan]# du -sh
    189M .
    root@web[/home/.cpan]# cd ../.cpcpan/
    root@web[/home/.cpcpan]# du -sh
    1.2M

These folders contain the perl module sources and information for connection mirrors, etc. You can always cd into the directory and navigate the folders to see what each contains. They shouldn't be related to Fantastico unless Fantastico is putting data into them, which I'm unsure why they would do that.

You could remove the contents that have the perl modules for the sources, but I wouldn't suggest removing the folders or contents entirely. Most of the files are small, so it would be better to find the largest files in each folder and remove those files only.
