Anyone tried Smartermail 10?

Does SM10 work ok with Enkompass??? i assume it will do but I wanted to double check...

I'm quite confident that it will work as well, since I don't imagine SmarterTools would be changing the API schema. I am planning an upgrade quite soon though, and after backing up v8.0 and installing v10.0, I'll return to post my results.

However, if anyone else in the meantime has upgraded SmarterMail to v10.0, it would be great to hear how it worked out.

We tried the upgrade for one of our customer from v9 to v10, the upgrade went pretty smooth. However, it's not using Enkompass.

I tryed Smarter Mail 10 in Enkompass, it's work fine but ony error is when u try to log to interface like administrator u can log in, Smarter Mail just loading but nothing happend.

I sent an email to Smarter Mail support and waiting for answer.

The latest version appears to fix the login problem.

All Enkompass supported features appear to work, except for "Mailing Lists" which isn't included in SmarterMail Lite.

If anyone finds a problem, let me know. I'll see if I can reproduce it on my test server.

Yes new new version fixed problem with login as administrator.

Now i tryed and all is ok!

Just wanted to chime in to say that we (finally) upgraded our SmarterMail installation from v8 to v10. Everything went smoothly and Enkompass is able to properly connect to v10!

Been playing with a new enkompass install all day, trying to get smartermail to install. I have uninstalled mailenable, done the smarter setup, can login to smartermail locahost:9998 no problem, tried firewall up, firewall down, insured the FW is open on 9998, removed all, reinstalled (several times) rebooted server, pretty sure the list has a few more things......all to come down to (every time) I try adding the service:

Failed to add the SmarterMail service to 'dante'.
Error occurred while adding Mail Server
Method 'AddMailServer' from contract 'IServerAdministratorService' failed.

What am I missing?

Yes SmarterMail 10 works with Enkompass.
I can confirm this as I use it myself, no probs.
All you need to do is open the firewall ports.

netsh firewall add portopening protocol=TCP port=25 name="SMTP" mode=ENABLE scope=ALL
netsh firewall add portopening protocol=TCP port=110 name="POP3" mode=ENABLE scope=ALL
netsh firewall add portopening protocol=TCP port=143 name="IMAP4" mode=ENABLE scope=ALL
netsh firewall add portopening protocol=TCP port=9998 name="SmarterMail" mode=ENABLE scope=ALL
netsh firewall add portopening protocol=TCP port=587 name="SMTPAlt" mode=ENABLE scope=ALL

Something I forgot to do at first and found that I was not receiving any emails.
Open these ports and SmarterMail will work perfectly, both for sending and receiving.
You can also configure the Lite version as POP (sadly not IMAP) in Outlook and iPhone.

Yes latest Smatermail work with Enkompass, what haven't worked well was the upgrade I tried, from 10.0 to 10.6, I had to remove all the folders related to Smartermail and start the setup again with the latest 10.6 setup file.
My upgrade issue was the setup procedure via browser that fail after the initial work of the software.
Does someone have tried to update a working Smartermail to the latest release ?

if you have issues since upgrading to 10.6 from previous version ie 10.1/2/3/4 o then uninstall smartermail (dont worry this wont remove your files/settings). then reinstall 10.6 it'll auto repickup all your settings and admin password as before and it'll fix the issue your having. I know many people who had issues with ie port 9998 not working since going from 10.4>10.5, they changing something in 10.5+ thats caused issues with upgrades.

Thank You for the tip, I hope that the next Smartermail updates will run better, anyway I will go on with Enkompass in production soon, Win2008 will be supported until 2020, I run Enkompass with Hyper-V role also up and all works well...really only MSSQL seems to have a little issue according on what tell me the service monitor.
At the end of my evaluation Enkompass work well, I will use it in productions soon, I am convinced to increase Microsoft utilization and if Enkompass will become again a paid product, I will purchase it without any doubts, any discount will be appreciated..of course..!!!
