A website dedicated to this is in development, no ETA on when it will go online though. For companies that wish to beta test cPanel Server Suite (TM) for Microsoft Windows Server®, we are accepting beta testing sign-ups via: [EDITED]

well I hate windows servers!!! and I think the fact that cPanel only runs on *nix boxes has helped maintain the *nix hosting market. I think it's a bad move. I understand why they are doing it and have talked to Nick about it .I can't say I blame them for wanting to compete in the Windows Market ..I just can't help but wanting to throw up thinking about email and web sites runing on such of hunk of crap. That whole mentality is what I loved about cPanel and Linux ..but I suppose I will wind up with a couple of these damn things before it's over with and I wouldn't even consider leaving cPanel. I will follow them into hell and back ..I might be kicking and screaming the whole way ..but maybe I can learn to Join them if we can't beat them. The mighty MS. Just think some day there will be one desktop (wait that's now) and one day one server ..oh boy ..I can't wait

I just hope they keep John Sr. in his own little world so that win32 world doesn't get mixed into what we all know and love ..or maybe he can retire before it actually happens. But this is all a fight that I may as well give up and give in. Ok ..it's fine. Show me a windows server. I will try anything once.................
Just keeping my "eye" on things....

I agree with your sentiments, except... there is more than one desktop. My desktop of choice (Mac) may be a small portion, but it isn't going away and it's market share is actually increasing. It's like the food industry, and fortunately, there's still choices other than McDonalds.

2k8 only, 2k3 support has been dropped.

Please make a killer plesk import routine. All my windows servers run plesk and I'd be thrilled to kick that to the curb.

Also, what are the plans for the future? Will we ever see Windows and Linux hosting services combined in a single control panel a la H-Sphere?

I guess that is basically my entire wish list for cPanel:
    1. Single control panel taking care of multiple hosting servers
    2. Ability to easily set up High Availability and Load Balanced servers
    3. Windows support

Requests 1 and 3 are taken care of with the product for Microsoft Windows(R).

As for doing things a-la SWSoft's H-Sphere, all I'll say to that right now is we aim to make the interfaces of both the Linux/FreeBSD and Microsoft Windows(R) products very similar to present a uniform user experience across the platforms, even if the specific functionalities offered by each product may be slightly different due to the environments they are managing (e.g. Hosting .NET Apps on Microsoft Windows(R) servers).

Yes thats important. Thats EXACTLY what I want. I want to feel when I'm using cpanel on windows thats its practically exactly the same as using cpanel on linux. BECAUSE the reason cpanel has been so successfull is because of its current interface design and functionality. People understand cpanel better (its more logically laid out) - so we want windows cpanel to look and feel like its still the same cpanel.

Well said! That's exactly what we are looking for also on our side.

Yeah but, as most know, it will forever be necessary to access shell in order to tweak certain items, set parameters, install additional security, etc. etc. etc. So, while the easy point 'n click interface may be similar, there will be a world of difference under the hood to deal with.

Personally, as much as I would hope otherwise, moving to Windows may represent a significant loss of focus for the cPanel development team.

I have posted my CEO about this.

Wanted to ask, what will be the expiration date for beta releases?

Hmm i think this has been waiting in the wings for a while now.

I dont like Windows Servers as they are unstable and need a shed load of resources..

Now, what hapens with things like Exchange?

I think it could be a great market as Plesk is a pile of crap and so slow - I'd certaintly like to see the beta for it and running on a live server - with ASP, ASP.NET and DNS ODBC & Exchange

Would be interesting indeed, good luck!
