ok, I have a copy sitting here in my action pack, just haven't had any spare time to load it up.. Sounds like a weekend project.

1 more question for now..
Is cpanel for Windows Server 2008 compatible with the "console only" version of server 2008?
Unfortunately, cPanel Server Suite cannot be installed onto Microsoft Windows Server Core as cPanel Server Suite relies upon the .NET Framework, which cannot be installed onto Microsoft Windows Server Core.
ok that is good to know.
I brought up a 2008 server tonight on a large domain, The new version of IIS is extremely different. I love the granularity that they have given everyone.
I'll wait for the beta, hopefully I make it in the early rounds.
Can someone somehow tell me if I actually signed up for beta. I know I filled out the form... but my friend told me he got an email a few days a go, and I never got one.

Well I can confirm that it wasn't improper...
Can I email someone to see if I was entered? If so, what email address should I email.
Yes I have, many hundreds of them, perl, php, mysql and a mail server was never a part of any of them. If you are doing windows only hosting then great, go for your life, install perl, mysql etc but if you have a mixed fleet like most do, you do not want to be wasting license fees on supporting perl, mysql, php etc on windows.. and you have far less security control over php scripts on windows.Have you ever run a Windows server?. I know if I didn't offer those things on my Windows servers I wouldn't have any customers on them.
1. php for me belongs on linux (mixed fleet remember)
2. Perl belongs on linux
3. MySQL belongs on linux
Windows
1. ASP + .NET belongs on windows
2. MSSQL belongs on windows
3. AD and none AD are a must have for any control panel, to integrate into any existing business and also for the 1 box hosting company.
Thanks![]()
Utropic, good one, I've coded all my exchange HMC stuff with php/SOAP (the php aint running on windows for you smart alecs out there), but a bundled .NET version with cPanel for windows would be essential as well I'd say.
Office Communications Server.. is also one that a lot of businesses would like to see .. HMC are developing the bits to add early next year I believe, after having a meeting with the main man from redmond the other week![]()
But is this control panel capable of handling a users features accross several systems?. Will it allow PHP on one server and mysql on another?. Will it be able to handle all the complexity of permissions, file space limits, bandwidth, etc accross several boxes for one account?.
