    Lightbulb Problem creating or modifying account

    When trying to modify account or create a new one with a password that not meet the SmarterMail requirements it fails with this error:

    Error occurred while modifying account for mlpeniel
    Failed to modify account mlpeniel.
    Method 'ModifyAccount' from contract 'IServerAdministratorService' failed.
    Error creating mail account.


    The problem is that the domain was left created in SM and when password is changed it fails again with:

    Error occurred while modifying account for mlpeniel
    Failed to modify account mlpeniel.
    Method 'ModifyAccount' from contract 'IServerAdministratorService' failed.
    Account already exists.

    What do you mean by "a password that not meet the SmarterMail requirements?"

    I mean if the SM is configured to require a password with at leas 1 number and i try to create an account with password AAaa#! for example, it will fail to create the account (OK) but the domain was left created in SM. =(

    Have you tried enabling symbols required? Maybe there is an error with how it stores the password in a string.

    Other than the 8 character minimum, Enkompass does not validate the SmarterMail password. If you are changing requirements for passwords via SmarterMail, you will need to convey that to your customers.

    These are the password requirements when creating an Enkompass account:

    1. The password should be 8-255 characters in length.

    2. Password must contain three of the following: a lower case letter, an upper case letter, the characters ~!@#$%^&* or a number

    3. Not allowed to include the accounts username in the password.

    Following these restrictions, I recommend unchecking "Require a number in the password" in SmarterMail's password requirements.

    I recommended re-setting your enkompass windows user accounts password. I had the same issue, or similar. When i installed Smarter Mail it changed for some reason. Reset the password, and Reboot, Recheck.

    The problem is that the customer can change password through Webmail and with an easy password spammers can get the customer account easily to send spam.

    There are no plans to change complexity requirements for Enkompass account passwords.

    A password like
    Code:
    aaa111$$
    is accepted, so we will have to uncheck the lower and upper case too!
