    Default Purpose of EnkompassSite.txt

    Hi,

Can anyone please tell me what the purpose of EnkompassSite.txt is in every domain / site on the server?

Just a "helpful" file to make sure you're being routed to the right place.

So what happens when a client deletes the file?

The client won't be able to browse to theirdomain.tld/EnkompassSite.txt.

    I.E. - nothing bad happens.

I find them to be a bit annoying as well, but I end up just leaving them. You could always do a search in your Users\cPanel subfolders to wipe them all if they do bother you though!

    Really?

    Please explain this then:

    http://www.vanwesemael.org/schoonmaak/EnkompassSite.txt
    http://www.vanwesemael.org/security/EnkompassSite.txt
    http://minhchauphat.com/EnkompassSite.txt

AND, what will happen when the client deletes that file?

Back to the original question, what's the purpose of this file exactly? cPanel doesn't have it, and other Windows control panels doesn't have something similar either.

    Howdy,

This is a testing tool to ensure a site was hosting when using more than one server to test a domain. That was all.

    http://www.vanwesemael.org/schoonmaak/EnkompassSite.txt
    http://www.vanwesemael.org/security/EnkompassSite.txt

These two are subdmoains hosted from the account that owns.

    http://minhchauphat.com/EnkompassSite.txt

This one is it's own domain.

    Thanks
