Default Running on a single box with Windows Server 2008

Can this really be effectively ran on a single Server2008 BOx?

I am seeing alot of contradictory POV that indicate that it really want's 3 boxes minumum with AD on all of them to really work correctly. Is that true or can it really run with acceptable results on a single server?

It is definitely possible to run Enkompass on a single system running Windows Server 2008 where the minimum system requirements are met; I believe this option is an acceptable starting point that allows hosting capacity to be gradually expanded as the resource requirements and hosting needs increase over time. While it is possible to run everything on a single server, better performance can be obtained by distributing hosted services among multiple servers.

Active Directory is required on the core server acting as your domain controller. When designing your Active Directory domain I would consider having at least one backup domain controller that runs Active Directory.

Processor Minimum: 1.4 GHz (x64 processor only)
    Memory Minimum: 4 GB RAM
Maximum: 8 GB (Foundation) or 32 GB (Standard) or 2 TB (Enterprise, Datacenter, and Itanium-Based Systems)
Disk Space Minimum: 32 GB or greater
    Foundation: 10 GB or greater
Note: Computers with more than 16 GB of RAM will require more disk space for paging, hibernation, and dump files.

I have never heard of a server that supported 2TB of Ram on a MOBO.

What is the optimum value for Ram for operation on a single server?

The minimum is 4 GB; I recommend installing at least 4 GB, or more whenever possible, up to a maximum as defined by the unique needs of what will be hosted and the available budget.

SO 8GB would run everything with no slowdown or performance issues?

While more RAM should offer a better advantage over less, there is not a magic number or amount of RAM that anyone could quote that will guarantee no slow-downs and or no performance issues; this depends on numerous factors, including depending largely on the server hardware configuration as a whole and similarly depending on what is hosted and how heavy the server workload is from handling the given tasks.
