    I am having a similar problem... My working and active Enkompass lincense suddenly deactivated and now I cannot access the admin or wso interface. Existing sites are loading up fine though.

    We're having installation problem, too.

    In a virtualized server with VirtualBox, Windows 2008 R2 Standard operating system, install can not pass license validation step:

    "Unable to obtain valid license; contact cPanel."

    Previous to the error message, a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library window:

    "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way."

    We've tested for correct license in License Verification - cPanel Inc., than installer detects correct own IP from http://cpanel.net/myip, and "nslookup auth.cpanel.net" response is correct and "telnet auth.cpanel.net 2089" conencts and shows "200 cPanel License Service Version 28.3 on 'auth5' [AV+,ENCF]".

    We've attempted uninstallin .NET 3.5 SP1, reinstalling and restarted installtiuon, without success.

    Is this a single server setup? AD and Enkompass on the same server?

    It's a single server setup, with AD and Enkompass in same server.

    Can you check Event Viewer >> Administrative Events to see if you get a different/better error? It should show as "Enkompass MSI" or something similar.

    I just made 2 attempts to install Windows Server 2008 R2 on VirtualBox and, both times, my image blue-screened. I'm giving up.

    All of our testing is on Hyper-V. And I've had good luck with VMWare.

    Yes, VirtualBox version 4.1.2, with Ubuntu 10.04 Server as host.

    Weird... I remember Windows Server 2008 R2 installation pretty straightforward. I could export an image for you if you wish to continue testing, with Windows recently installed (in spanish, sorry). I'm currently generating one, so it's not a problem for me.

    Looking through our ticket system, we've seen similar dll errors a couple of times on physical servers. The only solution on those was to re-image the machines.

    Has anyone found the solution to this problem yet? I am stuck with the exact same error message.

    I am running win server 2008R2, registered for a free 1 yr license for 2 IP addresses
