    Default UNC Share Problems

    Hi!

Im getting stuck in this UNC Share stuff.

Im installing Enkompass, and Im stuck in the bit of 'Setup IIS Shared Configuration' (Example: \\MyServer\MyShare\iis_config)

For the Website Share Path I just chose C: as I couldnt get anything else working!

Can anyone please give me any steps on how to setup this share path?..As Im not used to working with Windows for hosting yet.

    Thanks a lot.

    Howdy,

The UNC shares are just shared folders in windows. The one for sites is a volume, so we can have quota control.

You can find out how to set it up here:

    InstallingEnkompass < AllDocumentation/EnkompassHelp < TWiki

it leads right into setting up the shares. If you have any problems reply back and we'll figure it out .

    Thanks!

I went to here, but is stuck at how did you go to the screen "Setting permission for E"? And it is logged in using Administration account or the domain account?

Right click on the E drive and go to Properties. There will be a tab for Sharing
where you can set up the users and such.

Is it safe to set up users permission on a single drive (C where enkompass is installed too? Eg. C:?

I don't see why not. Their user data will be set up in a share.
The Folder should have Everyone with only Read access while the Domain
Admins and such would have a higher level of access.

The users are mapped to a folder within the drive and I've seen no indication
of them being able to get out.
