    Default Webmail Problem

Have setup my first Enkompass server so have limited knowledge.

Have installed MailEnable Professional and can connect with Outlook (IMAP).

However, there's a couple of webmail related issues:

    1. When I try and logon to webmail I cannot and get the following error:

User could not be logged into Enkompass:Mail Owner Interface.

    2. With cPanel we can go to www.domain.com/webmail.

This link suggests we can do this with Enkompass. However, we just get a 404!

    Any ideas?

    Hi

if you get a 404 this means you've set it up wrong, Login to SAI as admin and go to configure servers, edit your mail server and make sure the URL is configured correctly for the mail enable service.

Actually I think i've read this wrong...

If you click Login to Webmail in Enkompass if you get 404 here then you've set it up wrong as my last post.

/Webmail won't work on Enkompass due to how complex the setup us with multi-server, its not a single server basic setup like a linux setup would give you.

Its possible that a webmail virtual directory maybe added in the next version of Enkompass, I know they are adding /cpanel etc so possibly, /webmail too.

You should configure Webmail so mail.DOMAIN will load the email interface.

    Howdy,

You'll need to go to enkompassserver:2095 to get to the webmail interface the rewrite for /webmail will be in Oxygen.

    Thanks!

Have opened a support ticket and cPanel are helping with this but for info:

    - With http://serverhostname:2095 the webmail interface (cPanel's look and feel) loads up but login fails with message: "User could not be logged into Enkompass:Mail Owner Interface."

    - With http://serverip:2095 the same occurs

    - With http://serverhostname/mewebmail or http://serverip/mewebmail the MailEnable logon interface appears and I can login

    - however, with http://hosteddomainname/mewebmail the MailEnable interface does not load up

So, pretty inconsistent at the moment, and obviously preferable to be able to say to customers "use www.yourdomain.com/webmail" or (if necessary) "www.yourdomain.com/mewebmail" rather than having to advice they use the server hostname/IP address.

Thanks. The mailserver is on the same server as the Enkompass services and the tests come back ok. Cant see where I can edit a URL - just the hostname.

    Hi

Why not just setup mail.DOMAIN to load webmail?

    Hi

whatever IP Mail is configured on, in IIS on your email server, create a website with a static IP to the Mail IP with no hostname, so if you go to http://IP it will load webmail without /MEWebMail or whatever you'd type. Then if someone goes to mail.DOMAIn it'll point to that static IP and load webmail.

PS use Smartermail if you can so much better!
